Mom (2015)

Another long overdue drawing. This was a present to my mom for Mother's Day, since I never did a particularly good picture of her. A few years ago she and my dad hired a professional portrait sketch artist to do the two of them, but it didn't look quite right. I'd like to hope my own version looks a little bit more like her.

I've been trying to get better at realistic shading, and I wish it had showed up better in the picture, because it looks awesome in real life.

My usual editing program is down for the count for a while, and so I've been forced to use Microsoft Word for the last few edits. Not my favorite, but it does a decent job.

Materials: mechanical pencil (yeah, I know) on unlined notebook paper
